duckhunter's Rams 2013 Mock Draft

Duck's Picks

The Rams added speed and I'm all for that. Austin and Bailey joining the WR squad offers a new electric speed formation that will pose problems for the big slower CB/S teams. How do they cover a set of Austin, Cook, Bailey, Givens and Pead in the backfield? Most teams don't have that speed on their defense. Now that is matchup problems.

Analysis: I was not on the McDonald train. Taller than I like, leggy, and not as agile. In FS, I want a more compact, better hips, cover guy. The guy I really wanted was Swearinger in the 2nd. The trade up for Austin prevented that. Bailey and Wheaton are similar players. Wheaton gets the edge on route running, speed and quickness.

Analysis: Duke as a FS offers better agility, COD skills, speed, quickness and overall cover skills than McDonald. I would loved to have had both Swearinger and Duke out of this draft. Time will tell.

I loved Wheaton! Bold move changing him for Stedman Bailey and Duke Williams for TJ McDonald! You know I'm a USC guy. I loved TJ's dad Tim too. That guy could hit. Was a fearsome safety. I had real high hopes for TJ and just, ever really been a big fan. I hope that Kiffin scheme made him look worse than he really is because that whole defense was pretty bad the last few years. Polarizing pick for sure.
