Vertical Jump

The Vertical Jump measures lower body power and explosion. It is measured by determining the distance traveled upward from a standing still position that lacks momentum.

Prospects are asked to stand still while using their arms & knee bend to create an explosive upward drive without any momentum usually administered with a Vertec measuring device. Each prospect jumps twice and the highest jump is recorded.

This measurement is important for running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, offensive linemen, defensive linemen, and defensive backs. With an added emphasis to wide receivers, offensive linemen, defensive linemen, and defensive backs.
