Arm Length Measurements

The Arm Length Measurement measures a prospects arm length from the shoulder blade to the tip of the middle finger of a fully extended arm. In football it is also known as Reach or Arm Span.

Having a longer arm length or reach is beneficial in many ways to many players at different positions. It generally helps to establish distance between players, which can help in defeating blocks, defeating a jam at the line of scrimmage, or influence a quarterbacks motion of delivery, among many other things.

This measurement is important for quarterbacks, wide receivers, tight ends, offensive linemen, defensive linemen, linebackers and defensive backs. With an added emphasis to quarterbacks, wide receivers, tight ends, offensive tackles, defensive tackles, defensive ends, linebackers and cornerbacks.
