Show/Hide All Player Comments Rd (Ovr) Team Pos Name College Cls Height Weight 40
Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (1st) QB Blake Bortles Central Florida rJr 6'5" 232 lbs. 4.93

Analysis: The Texans trading Shaub away kind of gives you the idea that they are going to draft a QB (Maybe Mettenberg in Round 2?). I thought they were going to draft Clowney, and still kind of do. They have plenty of good football players and should absolutely contend this year, if they can rebound and stay healthy. I don't think he will win rookie of the year, or put up huge numbers his first year as he adjusts to the strength of schedule, but he sure looks like a guy who could be a very good QB for a very long time.

Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (2nd) WR Sammy Watkins Clemson Jr 6'0 3/4" 211 lbs. 4.43

Analysis: (Probable trade up from a team to draft Clowney, possibly ATL, Jax)I know everyone has them taking OT with this pick, and they probably will take one, but why not take a risk on one of the most explosive players in the draft. Pairing Watkins and Tavon Austin would give the Rams a competitive edge in a defensive division. The Rams have put together some very nice drafts recently building the defensive line and filling some key holes in the roster, but with so much relying on Sam Bradford (If they keep him) why not give him another weapon. Hopefully Jake Long can come back from injury to protect Bradford, but I am sure they Rams will go after an OT sometime early in the draft, probably with this pick.

Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (3rd) 43DE Jadeveon Clowney South Carolina Jr 6'5 1/4" 266 lbs. 4.53

Analysis: If Clowney lasts this long I think Jacksonville has to make this pick. I think Clowney is a tad overrated, but his potential is not. He could become an absolute monster in the NFL, but he just doesn't seem there yet (not many rookies are). I know they have spent money in Free Agency to improve their pass rush, but they still could use some more help. Johnny Football could be the pick here to give the offense some life, but I think the possible combination of "after football activities" of Manziel AND Justin Blackmon is a roller coaster the Jags can't afford to ride.

Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (4th) QB Johnny Manziel Texas A&M rSo 5'11 3/4" 207 lbs. 4.68

Analysis: Just do it Cleveland! Make the offense exciting. Make people talk about the Browns again. Make people forget about that really old rookie and "that guy who throws to Josh Gordon a lot". Make money off of Jersey sales to every frat boy in America. Make the pick with confidence knowing that even if he isn't that good, in a couple years you can trade him to the Colts for their 1st round pick.
Manziel could thrive in a system that allows him to develop and improvise with a big play reciever and consistent TE. Cleveland would be a pretty good landing spot for him.

Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (5th) WR Mike Evans Texas A&M rSo 6'4 3/4" 231 lbs. 4.46

Analysis: Let's just assume Oakland forgets that they need OLine and DLine help, Secondary help, and a RB. I wanna believe that Oakland can aquire a WR and it work out! I wanna see a risk that Oakland takes pay off! I wanna see an Oakland QB start AND finish a season! I wanna see the greatest Oakland draft class ever carry them all the way to a dominating 10-6 record! ...actually I just think Oakland is ready to make some headlines. They have made some big improvements through free agency on defense, and could reach here for a playmaker. James Jones is a nice signing, but if Watkins or Evans is available I think one of them will be the pick. Evans has tons of potential if he can keep his emotions in check and focus every play. (not an Oakland fan, I just enjoy watching teams take chances year after year even though most of those chances have ended poorly)

Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (6th) 34OLB Khalil Mack Buffalo rSr 6'2 5/8" 251 lbs. 4.55

Analysis: The Falcons are poised to make another big splash and really load up on talent. With an injury plagued LB crew, and a less than stellar pass rush, lets kill 2 birds with a Monster athlete in Mack. I know he played in a weak conference and no good players ever come from weak conferences (Marques Colston, Vincent Jackson) and those who come from those weaker conferences are NEVER good pass rushers (Jared Allen, Robert Mathis). Mack is very impressive at first glance, and has the tools to become a very good player. I think a few bumps as he adjusts to a tougher schedule will be worth the outcome.

Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (7th) OT Greg Robinson Auburn rSo 6'5" 332 lbs. 4.92

Analysis: The Buccs are confusing. I don't know what they are going to do, but they could really use a replacement for Penn. If Robinson is still available (I don't think he will be) they will jump on him quickly. Even after some very good free agent signings, they could still use some help at LB and with the pass rush. If Glennon is their guy they need to protect him. If he's not, look out.

Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (8th) QB Teddy Bridgewater Louisville Jr 6'2 1/8" 214 lbs. 4.79

Analysis: Teddy Bridgewater's pro day did 1 of 2 things. Either exposed some really serious flaws in his delivery and Accuracy, or it proves that people weight too much what athletes can do in shorts and a t-shirt and forget what they do with pads on. Bridgewater's numbers scream accurate QB, and people forget that. I think he is a gamer that is gonna be a steal if he drops anywhere out of the top 15

Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (9th) FS Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix Alabama Jr 6'1 3/8" 208 lbs. 4.58

Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (10th) CB Justin Gilbert Oklahoma St. Sr 6'0 1/8" 202 lbs. 4.37

Analysis: Detroit needs secondary help, especially after releasing Delmas. Gilbert has good size, good coverage skills, and has big play potential.
