Important Players Departing: CB Nolan Carroll (FA); DT Cedric Thornton (FA); DB Walter Thurmond (FA); LT Jason Peters (CC); LG Allen Barbre (CC); QB Sam Bradford (FA); RB DeMarco Murray (+ 5th round pick, trade with Dallas , for 3rd round pick); Atlanta Falcons 2nd round pick for 2 Eagles 3rd (77 & 79ovr) = value of 400 per Draft Trade Chart FA Arriving: 1) OG Jeff Allen; biggest signing, connections with Doug Pederson, will be starting LG; 2) WR Mohammed Sanu; will not stay in CIN (as per repport), don't believe he will join Hue in Cleveland, as he didn't play an important role in this year's system; 3) QB Chase Daniel; quality QB, thought off highly by Pederson, will be a stopgap player; 4) OL Donald Stephenson; decent lineman for KC, could move in to RG for the Eagles; 5) WR Jason Avant; Avant returns home for some vet presence in young WR corps; 6) DT Nick Fairley; Fairley used to be an amazing player for Schwartz in Detroit, but hasn't produced in recent years; 7) SS Tyvon Branch; Another KC player coming to Philly. Could compete for a starting spot; 8) CB Marcus Cooper; Depth player at both corner and safety

Show/Hide All Player Comments Round (Overall) Pos Name College Cls Height Weight 40
Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (13th) OT Taylor Decker Ohio St. Sr 6'7 1/2" 317 lbs. 5.21

Analysis: With the 13th overall pick in this year's draft, the Eagles will select Taylor Decker out of Ohio State.

The former Buckeye looks the part to be an instant starter, and will most likely be the starting RT for the Eagles should they draft him; indeed, I see the Eagles parting ways with Jason Peters, and Lane Johnson moving to LT, where he had stints at this year.

Show/Hide Player Comments 2nd (17th) WR Braxton Miller Ohio St. rSr 6'1 3/8" 215 lbs. 4.42

Analysis: I see the Eagles trading up with Atlanta (who has only 5 picks in this year's draft), to select Braxton Miller.

The speedy Miller would be the second Ohio State player selected by the Eagles, in just as manny rounds. Last year, the Eagles passing offense wasn't exciting, and the addition of this young play maker could really fire things up in Philly. On the plus side, Miller could also work out as a reserve QB, a position he played as earlier in his college career, and actually excelled at.

Show/Hide Player Comments 3rd (4th) QB Christian Hackenberg Penn St. Jr 6'3 5/8" 236 lbs. 4.78

Analysis: In a strange reality, I could potentially see DeMarco Murray being traded back to the rival Cowboys, who really missed his skills this season. With the pick acquired from this trade, the Eagles would select their QB of the future, Christian Hackenberg.

At the beginning of the season, I thought of Hackenberg as the best QB prospect in the draft. However, after a lackluster season for the Nittany Lions, manny see him as the 5th or 6th best QB in the draft. In my opinion, it will take a few seasons for Hackenberg to flourish, and that is why Pederson will bring Chase Daniel from KC, who he trusts could nurture this kid into a star. Furthermore, the 21 year old passer wouldn't need to start straight away; the Eagles could use either Daniel or god forbid, Mark "Buttfumble" Sanchez as their signal caller.

Show/Hide Player Comments 4th (15th) OT Denver Kirkland Arkansas Jr 6'4 5/8" 343 lbs. 5.47

Analysis: I do not have the Eagles selecting Kirkland, but rather Connor McGovern, a 6'4", 305pound Offensive Guard out of Missouri.

McGovern has the versatility to play both guard and tackle, but projects more on the inside. McGovern could provide solid depth on the OL, and perhaps even start at RG, should FA Donald Stephenson fail to impress at that position.

Show/Hide Player Comments 5th (25th) FS Jayron Kearse Clemson Jr 6'3 1/4" 210 lbs. 4.57

Analysis: Kearse is a big safety who's been quoted to mold his game after Kam Chancellor. The big safety prospect out of Clemson has good athleticism, and great reach. With little competition for the SS spot (Ed Reynolds, Tyvon Branch), the former Tiger could even become a starter.

Show/Hide Player Comments 6th (13th) 43DE Anthony Zettel Penn St. rSr 6'4" 278 lbs. 4.87

Analysis: With this pick, I do not have the Eagles selecting Zettel, but rather Aziz Shittu, 6'2", 280lbs Defensive end from Stanford.

Shittu has been heavily scouted by the Eagles at the East-West Shrine game, and though the Stanford product looks more of a tweener (not big enough to play DT, and not quick enough to play DE), he could be a rotational lineman that develops into a decent player in the long run. I love Stanford players, for they are smart and hard working players, that tend not to come with huge diva personalities (Richard Sherman excluded). Ressembles Tampa Bay's Da'Quan Bowers.

Show/Hide Player Comments 7th (13th) HB Terrence Upshaw Appalachian St. rSo 5'9 1/8" 210 lbs. 4.59

Analysis: I do not have the Eagles selecting Upshaw.

Rather, I want the Eagles to select Keenan Reynolds, 5'10", 190lbs Quarterback out of Navy.

Keenan Reynolds is a terrific player, setting NCAA record for TDs in one season. Though he played QB, many see Reynolds as a RB or slot receiver at the next level. The former Midshipman would be a fun weapon to utilize on offense and special teams. Pro comparison: Dennard Robinson.

Show/Hide Player Comments 7th (30th) FB Derek Watt Wisconsin rSr 6'1 5/8" 232 lbs. 4.78

Analysis: With their last pick in the draft, the Eagles will draft Derek Watt, out of Wisconsin. With Pederson bringing in a Westcoast type of offense, a decent FB could be needed. Watt, though lacking size, has TE-like hands, and decent strength behind him. He reminds me of John Kuhn of the Packers.

From my PA people that came across Hackenberg, the most common word used to
describe him is "douche". With that being said, he's a starter quality guy
that you grab in the mid rounds which beats drafting any of those"1st round
Braxton Miller has playmaker potential. Eagles need playmakers..
