Show/Hide All Player Comments Round (Overall) Pos Name College Cls Height Weight 40
Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (26th) HB Melvin Gordon III Wisconsin rJr 6'0 5/8" 207 lbs. 4.52

Analysis: There is no reason the Colts shouldn't take a RB here. A guy like Gordon can produce immediately, especially when Andrew Luck is the QB.

Show/Hide Player Comments 2nd (26th) CB Byron Jones Connecticut rSr 6'0 1/2" 191 lbs. 4.52

Analysis: A bit of a stretch seeing him fall this far after his monster combine, but there are other DBs ahead of him in this draft. With all of his athletic ability, he should fit in well in the Colts man coverage scheme.

Show/Hide Player Comments 3rd (26th) 34OLB Zach Hodges Harvard Sr 6'2 5/8" 235 lbs. 4.74

Analysis: Small school prospect who is over shadowed by many other talented pass rushers in this draft. Probably will fall right into the Colt's hands.

Show/Hide Player Comments 4th (26th) CB Quandre Diggs Texas Sr 5'9 5/8" 200 lbs. 4.48

Analysis: A lot of scouts have him going very late in the draft because of his size. But when you watch him play he makes up for his size with rare competitiveness and athletic ability. He'll most likely play FS or nickel in the NFL but he showed he can cover receivers on the outside when he played against Kevin White who is 6'3".

Show/Hide Player Comments 5th (26th) OG Jon Feliciano Miami (FL) rSr 6'4 5/8" 320 lbs. 5.32

Analysis: The Colt's offensive line was greatly improved last season but still needs some tweaking. This is a good pick here.

Show/Hide Player Comments 6th (26th) FS Damarious Randall Arizona St. rSr 5'11 3/4" 190 lbs. 4.56

Analysis: This website has him as a WR but he is actually a SS. Arizona State was mainly a man coverage team and Randall always seemed to be around the ball and making plays. It would be unusual to see the Colts start two rookie safeties (Diggs and Randall) but with the lack of talent in the Colts secondary it is very possible.

Show/Hide Player Comments 6th (32nd) QB Bo Wallace Mississippi Sr 6'3 5/8" 210 lbs. 4.78

Analysis: This pick isn't meant to bring any type of competition to Andrew Luck (I doubt you could find any) but the Colts need a backup in case something happens to him and Hasselbeck should retire soon. Wallace probably will not ever be a starter in the NFL but he should be able to some in and contribute when his number is called.

Show/Hide Player Comments 7th (28th) WR Donatella Luckett Harding Sr 5'11 5/8" 210 lbs. 4.48

Analysis: This is when I would expect the Colts to take a receiver. With T.Y. Hilton becoming a true star, Donte Moncrief improving, and Duron Carter's arrival. Reggie Wayne is expected to retire after this year and they need a replacement. I'm not saying Luckett will be the next Reggie Wayne though, it'll be similar to the Marvin Harrison Pierre Garcon situation a few years back. Luckett can develop for a year or two and when Reggie leaves he can step in and produce.
