Show/Hide All Player Comments Round (Overall) Pos Name College Cls Height Weight 40
Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (30th) MLB Denzel Perryman Miami (FL) Sr 5'11 1/8" 242 lbs. 4.72

Analysis: Green Bay got rid of both AJ Hawk and Brad Jones and needs a stud linebacker next to Sam Barrington. Perryman may be a little shorter than most would like but he's getting the Chris Borland comparisons and is much better against the run and in coverage than any other ILB in the draft. Green Bay takes care of their most glaring need here.

Show/Hide Player Comments 2nd (30th) WR Dorial Green-Beckham Oklahoma Jr 6'5 1/4" 225 lbs. 4.49

Analysis: DGB's off the field problems will result in a draft day slide but the Packers are here to pick him up. The Packers are going to let Randall Cobb test free agency and his price tag may be too rich for them to keep him so they get an absolute freak in Green-Beckham who would be the #1 receiver in the draft if it wasn't for his problems. Being put in Green Bay with a strong locker room in a small town would help keep him in line. High risk/High reward but the possibility of Nelson/Adams/Green-Beckham/Janis quartet would give the NFC nightmares.

Show/Hide Player Comments 3rd (30th) CB Kevin Johnson Wake Forest rSr 6'0 1/4" 175 lbs. 4.56

Analysis: Both Tramon Williams and Davon House are free agents and Casey Hayward is a free agent next year so the Packers grab Johnson here who had an impressive combine and has been compared to the Packers' Sam Shields. He could compete for the spot across from Shields or can learn and be a backup if they bring Williams or House back.

Show/Hide Player Comments 4th (30th) TE Jesse James Penn St. Jr 6'6 5/8" 254 lbs. 4.89

Analysis: The Packers biggest weakness on offense was the inability to score in the red zone. They go ahead and grab James who at 6'7 would be a matchup nightmare against corners, safeties and even linebackers. He's a project but worth taking as a 4th round pick.

Show/Hide Player Comments 5th (30th) NT Xavier Williams Northern Iowa rSr 6'3 1/4" 309 lbs. 5.18

Analysis: BJ Raji and Letroy Guion are both free agents. Raji is probably gone and Guion has legal issues in Florida to deal with so he may not be back either. The Packers take Williams who might be a surprise coming out of the FCS. He's going to be a project that would need a good veteran to teach him which could be Guion if the Packers resign him.

Show/Hide Player Comments 6th (30th) MLB Bryce Hager Baylor rSr 6'0 5/8" 235 lbs. 4.63

Analysis: Packers double dip at ILB since the only players there would be Perryman, Barrington and Carl Bradford. Hager would provide depth and be a special teams contributer.

Show/Hide Player Comments 7th (30th) QB Taylor Heinicke Old Dominion Sr 6'0 5/8" 205 lbs. 4.76

Analysis: Packers need to develop a young backup for Aaron Rodgers lest Packers fans have to watch in horror as Matt Flynn's noodle arm tries to throw 30 yard bombs to nobody. Heinicke is an interesting prospect and would be a good project for Mike McCarthy as Heinieke already has the quick release that's become Aaron Rodgers' trademark and has good field vision but needs to be polished up and would under Rodgers.

If is was going to bet, I would say Green Bay would take ILB Stephone Anthony from Clemson with the first pick. Xavier Williams is a GREAT prospect at DT!
