CamanoIslandJQ's Seahawks Mock Draft

Seahawks, reloading for the next SB

The Seahawks do have some offensive holes to fill & need better support around their franchise QB. Also a couple of key defensive players need to be added to the competition for the next SB. The potential cap issues are mostly overblown and the GM knows how to get the optimum players on the field, he looks under every rock & bush for potential additions. These coaches know how to build a team from scratch with nearly 1000 player transactions in the last 5 years. I think there are only a couple left from the old regime.

Show/Hide All Player Comments Round (Overall) Pos Name College Cls Height Weight 40
Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (31st) HB Todd Gurley Georgia Jr 6'0 1/2" 232 lbs. 4.52

Analysis: Lynch is likely gone either he retires or is cut or traded for a late Rd pick. The current #2 & #3 backups, Turbin and Michael are okay but still need a #1 to truly continue as a run first team.

Show/Hide Player Comments 2nd (31st) 43DE Eli Harold Virginia Jr 6'3 3/4" 235 lbs. 4.73

Analysis: Another pass rusher is needed and this guy fits the Seahawks mold. Can be brought along slowly as a rotational piece with great upside, A motor + guy.

Show/Hide Player Comments 3rd (31st) WR Tyler Lockett Kansas St. Sr 5'10 5/8" 176 lbs. 4.47

Analysis: More playmaking weapons for the Seahawks are their biggest offensive needs. This kid is not only a prolific WR with lots of catches and yards on his resume, he is also probably the best KR in the draft. Especially on punt returns, the Seahawks need to replace the work that was previously done by Golden Tate in 2013 as a PR. This past season our PR's consisted of mostly fair catches, fumbles or loss of field position.

2014: 106 receptions, 1515-yds, 14.29/avg, 11-TD's
2014: Punt Returns: 21 for 402-yds, 19.14-avg., 2-TD;s,

Show/Hide Player Comments 4th (6th) TE Jesse James Penn St. Jr 6'6 5/8" 254 lbs. 4.89

Analysis: A big guy with "Gronk" size that can be a good seam route and middle of the field & red zone receiver and hopefully a good blocker with some coaching up.

Show/Hide Player Comments 4th (31st) UT Marcus Hardison Arizona St. Sr 6'4 1/4" 300 lbs. 4.96

Analysis: The DL has seemed to have bad luck with injuries. Another rotational rusher that can get pressure up the middle is a need. They have Mebane, Marsh and Hill who have been injured & Mebane may be a cap cut, so more help may be needed.

Show/Hide Player Comments 5th (31st) FS Eric Rowe Utah Sr 6'1 1/8" 205 lbs. 4.49

Analysis: He switched to CB this year after being at FS, showing he is versatile. The Legion of Boom is currently nicked up and the #2 CB Maxwell will be hard to keep, CB's of his quality are hard to find. Rowe seems to fit the blueprint and plays with a "Seahawky" style. Our GM finds players that do things well and they have had much success going with later round CB's, here is the next one.

Show/Hide Player Comments 7th (31st) WR Devante Davis UNLV rSr 6'2 1/8" 210 lbs. 4.52

Analysis: Russell Wilson will be able to do his job a lot better with these WR additions.
A tall, reasonably fast, strong WR that is being seriously overlooked. See his 2013 season as to his potential, nobody is looking at that. If he falls to the 7th round, that may very well be the steal of the draft.

NOTE: The Seahawks also have probably 4 comp picks, I'd guess Rds 4, 5, 6 & 7 to add additional competition for depth on both sides of the ball, (especially the OL for Tom Cable to coach up). That totals 4 additional picks beyond those shown in this "dream draft".
