Rdnymullen6's Giants Mock Draft

Rebuild for Succes

Trying to keep it simple.. - Fire OC Gilbride , Keep DC Fewell- Earned another year after Seattle Game -Resign J. Tuck and use as DT otherwise bounce -Resign Nick to the same Contract as Cruz. Hope Rolle will re-structure for longer deal. Resign TT 3 Acl's and a Microfracture surgery - Dude plays Tough and with Heart. I would take a 52 man roster of him any day. Thanks again Carolina for Jon Beason.

Show/Hide All Player Comments Round (Overall) Pos Name College Cls Height Weight 40
Show/Hide Player Comments 1st (12th) CB Justin Gilbert Oklahoma St. Sr 6'0 1/8" 202 lbs. 4.37

Analysis: Putting him opposite Prince , would give us a nice tandem.
Seeing as how we do not know the health of David Wilson, He can also be a game-changer in the Return game
--Secondary would be Fixed with Rolle, Will Hill, Steve Brown then Prince, Gilbert, Hosley and my favorite corner who deserves another contract with us Terrell Thomas.

Show/Hide Player Comments 2nd (12th) OT James Hurst North Carolina Sr 6'5 1/4" 296 lbs. 5.59

Analysis: Love his upside. Would be a steal if he is available in the 2nd at our pick.
Second choice here would be Zach Martin ( Pugh 2.0 ), Only cause David Yankey will get drafted in round 1

Show/Hide Player Comments 4th (12th) OC Russell Bodine North Carolina rJr 6'3 1/8" 310 lbs. 5.18

Analysis: Seems to me , Like this years class with have a lot more Centers taken than the last few drafts.
If that is the case, I think the Centers like : Swanson, Stork and Weston Richburg will all be gone early.
That helps my Giants, Bodine slipping to the 4th

Show/Hide Player Comments 5th (12th) TE Colt Lyerla Without Jr 6'4 1/8" 242 lbs. 4.61

Analysis: Like others have said.. In terms of talent , no Later than 1st..
Good thing this kid just plays football..Cause that is all I would want from him.
Giants need the Help at TE and While every other TE Prospect in this years draft is more respectable as a man, Lyerla does have more upside than most.

Show/Hide Player Comments 6th (12th) MLB Max Bullough Michigan St. Sr 6'3 1/2" 249 lbs. 4.76

Analysis: Maybe he is the player we are supposed to take instead of Greg Jones a few years ago..
Might be around this spot, Vontez Burfict- Potential Maybe?

I like it, but what about the run game? This draft is pretty deep in RBs, and if the Giants can grab one that can make a difference right away, it could help them immensely and take pressure off of Eli. We saw how good Eli is when they have no run game at all. He needs a bell cow back to get 1300+ yds to be successful. Thoughts?

I was a big fan of Chris Polk coming out, a few years ago.
But yeah , With Jacobs gone, and Wilson's uncertainty we do need another young back to compete.
Maybe someone mid-round like : Kapri Bibbs Colorado St. , Damien William Oklahoma or James White from Wisconsin could help with the depth and add some youth to the RB, and heath, I guess too.

I agree with ausmurp in that this draft seems very deep at running back. Maybe not at the top but certainly in the later rounds. It would be a good draft to address that position late. Maybe a trade back and pick up an extra pick or something?

I like the draft overall though. Just needs more picks! lol Bullough is a guy I like too. Not sure if he is around that late but I like his character. Lyerla could be a home run or a dud. He's going to be a hard one to tell.
